The H1zElmax is a true hunting knife with roots in classic, northern Scandinavian knife making. The 5 mm thick convex ground blade runs almost full width through the handle and is extremely strong due to the hard and tough special steel. The full-bodied handle is made of mesh-cut thermorun that provides a pleasant, comfortable grip.
The blade is a powder steel, Elmax SuperClean from Uddeholm in Sweden. It gives a blade that is stronger and that keeps its sharpness significantly longer. After use and testing for a number of years, it can be stated that it is a very high-performance and affordable steel. Very good balance between sharpness duration and strength, but is still relatively easy to sharpen. The hardness is 61-62 HRC, an ideal hardness for this steel in terms of sharpness and strength.
