FDD is a double-sided blue folding sharpener from Fällkniven with diamonds on both sides, but with different thicknesses.
The folding handle means that you can sharpen your knife without the risk of cutting yourself.
Even if a diamond blade is worn, it remains flat, which is a great advantage in the long run when sharpening a knife. In addition, diamond blades are quick in their action, and a new edge is quickly produced. No oil or water is needed either.
The yellow surface is made of titanium aluminum nitride, which greatly extends the life of the blade. You use the coarse side (44 microns) if you've had a major edge damage, the fine side (25 microns) for normal edge sharpening.
A set of instructions in English on how to use the whetstone is included. For cleaning, use dish soap and hot water. Like all diamond whetstones, this whetstone is a little rough at first but gets better after some use. When, after several hundred sharpenings, the edge has become thick and difficult to achieve a good sharpness, it is time to send the knife in for resharpening.
